Past Landscapes has been setup to create a community whereby anyone with an interest in past events, history or heritage can come together to share their knowledge and views with others.

The basis of Past Landscapes is to create a hub of ever-increasing knowledge of the past with contributions from specialists as well as interested parties and that is accessible to everyone. Past Landscapes is also to be an open forum where different ideas, theories and explanations can be discussed and debated.

Welcome to Past Landscapes

Welcome to Past Landscapes!

This is the beginning of a community who all share one thing, an interest and love of the past! Past Landscapes has been created so that anyone who with an interest can bring the information that they have to a global community; and through this mutual sharing of information, our collective knowledge of the past will become fuller and richer. We believe that everyone, professionals, academics and interested parties, can all contribute at the same level to create a universal understanding of our international archaeological, historical and heritage backgrounds.

Please take a look around the site where you can discover a growing map of known heritage sites, see the latest job opportunities in the heritage sector, check out a growing list of heritage service companies, look at a growing list of publications relating to all things heritage and read our blog!

If you want to contribute, please join up! It is free, quick and easy and then you are able to join the community with discussions in the forum, contribute to a growing map of heritage sites, add books relating to the past that you know of and conduct your own polls within the site. This is just the beginning and there is much more to come - that is the best thing about the past, it grows every day! All we ask is that any information you contribute has to have a factual basis (i.e. be real!).

As Past Landscapes has just begun, we are only in the alpha testing phase so any problems or hiccups that you may come across, please let us know so that we can sort them out and create the meeting place that you want!

The past is everyone’s, it’s time to be shared.
